Celina Mays was a 12 year old girl who was 8 months pregnant when she went missing in 1996.
Celina Mays was born on May 21, 1984. Before her disappearance, Celina moved to Willingboro, New Jersey to live with her father and stepmother after her mother passed away in 1994. The family lived with more than 10 other people in their home. Celina was homeschooled and her family was strictly religious, following a church called the Gospel of Christ Ministry.
Gospel of Christ Ministry
One day in 1996, 12 year old Celina informed her family that she was pregnant. Her family demanded to know who the father was, but Celina would not give them any information about him other than he was 16 and not a member of their church. At one point, her father threatened to get a paternity test done after the baby was born to figure out who the father is.
December 15, 1996 seemed to be another normal day for Celina. She was just 2 weeks away from her due date the night she disappeared. After talking with her family and eating some ice cream, Celina told her parents good night and went to bed. The next day, her sister went to wake her up. Upon going to Celina’s bed, she found that there were only pillows there made to look like someone was in the bed. Almost all of her personal items were left behind as well.
Celina’s home
After conducting a search and questioning those around Celina, law enforcement was no closer to figuring where Celina may have disappeared to. There are many theories surrounding Celina’s disappearance and why she may have disappeared. Some believe that Celina possibly didn’t want her parents to know who the real father of her baby is, so she left willingly. Another theory is that her family didn’t want the public to know who the real father of Celina’s baby is and made her leave to keep quiet. The theory that law enforcement believes the most is that Celina is alive somewhere and possibly living under a new name.
Many people have also questioned her family’s church’s involvement with her disappearance. Some people apart of the church may have some knowledge regarding Celina’s situation. When investigations were being conducted, the owner of the church would not let detectives search the church for evidence in Celina’s disappearance. It was also stated that the church had affiliations in other states, so Celina could still have some kind of involvement with the church somewhere else.
With all these theories floating around, only Celina and whoever was involved with her disappearance know what really happened to her. I truly hope that she and her baby are out there alive somewhere and doing fine.
Robbey Peay was a teenage boy who went missing in 1982. He has never been heard from since the last time he was seen and seemingly vanished.
Robby Lynn Peay was born on August 2, 1965 and was adopted as a baby. He was living in Salt Lake City at the time of his disappearance. Prior to his disappearance, he stayed with his family, but would sometimes run away from home. He once ran away and found work in Colorado to make a living while using a false name. Around 1978, he began to get involved with the law after some minor offenses. A month before his disappearance, Robby was arrested for tobacco possession and was placed in a juvenile detention center.
Robby and another teenage boy escaped from the juvenile detention center in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 7, 1982. Robby’s mother believes that he escaped because of the possibility of being sent to a Boy’s Ranch, which Robby absolutely did not want to go to. The other boy that he escaped with was eventually found and brought back to the center. He told investigators that he and Robby eventually went separate ways and he never heard from Robby after that.
The investigators originally believed that Robby was a runaway because of his history of running away. However, his family and investigators eventually came to believe that Robby met with foul play after he escaped because he did not stay in regular contact with his mother as he usually would when he left.
There have been no reported sightings of Robby since 1982. It is even more difficult to find Robby because in the past the laws did not require juveniles to get their fingerprints taken when brought into custody. So the idea of comparing Robby’s fingerprints to those of unidentified decedents can’t be used. After no further traces, Robby was legally declared deceased in January of 1991.
Robby was 5’9″ and 150lbs at the time of his disappearance. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He also has a scar on his back from climbing through a broken window.
Age progression of what Robby would look like at 54
The Atlanta Child Murders were a series of homicides committed between 1970-1981 in Atlanta. The 28 victims consisted mainly of children, adolescents, and a few adults. The man suspected of the murders, Wayne Williams, was sentenced to life in prison, and although he was only prosecuted for two of the murders, he is believed to be the serial killer.
The first of the Atlanta Child Murders occurred in mid-1979 when 14 year old Eddie Hope Smith and Alfred Evans disappeared about 4 days apart. Both of their bodies were found on July 28 in a wooded area, with one of the victims killed by a gunshot wound. The murders continued through 1979 when 14 year old Milton Havery went missing in September, with his body not being found until November, and 9 year old Yusuf Bell disappearing while running an errand for his mother. He was later found strangled to death in an abandoned school.
Near the beginning of March 1980, the murders went on. The first female victim, 12 year old Angel Lanier, disappeared after leaving her house one afternoon. Her body was found 6 days later in a wooded vacant area. A week after Angel’s disappearance, 11 year old Jeffery Mathis disappeared after running errands for his mother. His body was found 11 months later, but it was too badly decomposed to determine his cause of death.
2 months later, 14 year old Eric Middlebrooks went missing on May 18 after leaving his home in a hurry. His body was found the next day behind a bar. Though he had stab wounds, Eric’s cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head.
On June 9, 12 year old Christopher Richardson disappeared on his way to the community’s local pool. His body was found the following year in January near the body of another victim who would be later identified as Earl Terrel. Earl went missing in July of 1980 ,along with 9 year old Anthony Carter who was later found murdered.
On June 22, 7 year old LaTonya Wilson disappeared from her family’s apartment in the middle of the night. She was said to be seen being carried out of the apartment by two men. Her remains were found on October 18, but because of the state of decomposition, her cause of death was undetermined.
The following day, June 23, 10 year old Aaron Wyche disappeared after going to a grocery store near his home. Witnesses say that they saw the young boy talking to an older man who was leading him away from the store, and the man’s car matched the description of the car that was reported to be seen when Jeffery Mathis went missing. Aaron’s body was found the next day under a bridge, and his cause of death was a broken neck that was sustained from a fall.
The murders continued throughout the 1980s. 13 year old Clifford Jones disappeared on August 20 and his body was found the next day after he was strangled to death. 10 year old Darron Glass went missing on September 14, and has never been found. On October 9, 12 year old Charles Stephens was reported missing, and his body was found the next day. Then on November 1, 9 year old Aaron Jackson went missing, and he was found strangled to death the next day. Last, 16 year old Patrick Rogers, who was familiar with several of the previous victims, went missing on November 30. His body was found on December 7 in the Chattahoochee River, with many suspecting that the victim had been dropped from a bridge.
The murders continued as 1981 began. The first known victim of the year was 14 year old Lubie Geter who went missing on January 3. Lubie’s body was found on February 5. Lubie’s friend 15 year old Terry Pie went missing in January after Lubie did. An anonymous caller later tipped the police off to where Terry’s body was located.
In February and March of 1981, 6 more victims were found around Atlanta, including 21 year old Eddie Duncan, who is believed to be the first adult victim of the serial killer. In April, 20 year old Larry Rogers, 28 year old John Porter, and 21 year old Jimmy Ray Payne were shot to death; their murders are thought to be linked to the Atlanta Child Murders.
On May 12, FBI agents discovered the body of 17 year old William Barrett near a wooded area. A witness stated that they seen a man in a blue Cadillac observing the area were the body was later found earlier that day. Towards the end of May, the last reported victim, 27 year old Nathaniel Cater went missing. He was last seen at a theater with a man named Wayne Williams. Nathaniel was later found dead 2 days later.
Wayne Williams
After creating a map of the locations of the victims’s bodies, investigators found that the victims all fell in the same geographic parameters. Wayne Williams became a prime suspect as lots of evidence found was linked to him. For example, fibers found on some of the victims’s bodies were matched to a carpet in Wayne’s home.
After many victims were found in rivers, investigators formed a plan to stake out bridges along the Chattahoochee River in order to catch someone throwing something off the bridge. On May 22, 1981, during a stakeout , the first officer heard a loud splash from the bridge and went to investigate. On the bridge, they found a 1971 Chevrolet station wagon with 23 year old Wayne Williams driving. Wayne was questioned by the police, and he gave them false statements about being on his way to an audition with a friend that didn’t exist. Some fibers were collected from his car, but he was then allowed to go home by the investigators. Two days later, Nathaniel Cater’s body was found in the river.
After going through their collected evidence, Wayne Williams was arrested in connection to the murders on June 21, 1981. He was officially charged with the murders of Nathaniel Cater and Jimmy Ray Payne. Wayne’s trial began on January 6, 1982. He was found guilty of the murders on February 27, 1981 and sentenced to life in prison. It is noted that after Wayne was arrested, the killings suddenly stopped. Wayne claimed and continues to claim that he is innocent and even requested a retrial, which was denied.
Wayne Williams being arrested
There are many people who still doubt Wayne’s guilt. There are claims that the KKK were involved in a majority, if not all, of the murders. It is believed that officials in Atlanta used Wayne as a scapegoat because if it was revealed that the KKK was involved, a race war would be incited. Despite these beliefs, the evidence against Wayne shows that he must be the suspect in many of these murders.
The murder of Jayna Murray, also known as the Lululemon Murder, occurred on March 11, 2011 at a Lululemon store in Bethesda, Maryland. After a long investigation and a search for suspects, it was determined that Jayna was murdered by her fellow coworker Brittany Norwood, who later staged the crime scene.
Jayna Murray was a 30 year old woman who was born in Kansas and grew up in Texas. She was said to be extremely kind and liked by those around her. Jayna was also incredibly adventurous and traveled all around the world throughout her life. At the time of her murder, she was in school working toward getting her degree.
Jayna Murray
Brittany Norwood was 28 years old at the time of the incident. She was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and was said to be very intelligent and athletic. However, she had some issues growing up that involved theft. It was stated by her previous soccer teammates that she was caught stealing their items from the locker room several times, and before working at Lululemon, she was fired from her old job after being caught stealing.
Brittany Norwood
Some time before the incident took place, the managers of the Lululemon store began to suspect Brittany of stealing. They set up a meeting with other employees, including Jayna Murray, to tell them that if they caught Brittany or anyone stealing to report it as soon as possible.
On March 12, 2011, the manager of the Lululemon store Rachel came to unlock and open up the store at about 8A.M. However, upon going to open the door, she discovered that it was already unlocked. As Rachel went into the store, she saw that it was completely trashed with items thrown all over the store.
Items thrown around the store
Rachel then went back outside to call for help. Next door to the Lululemon store was an Apple store with a long line of customers outside waiting to purchase a new item that was going to be released that day. That’s when a man waiting outside the store named Ryan noticed how panicked Rachel was and went over to offer help.
Ryan told Rachel that he had been waiting outside the Apple store for about an hour and hadn’t seen anyone come in or out of Lululemon at all. The two then went inside of Lululemon to investigate the scene. As they were walking through the store, they noticed a trail of blood and bloody footprints leading toward the back.
A trail of blood leading toward the back of the store
When Ryan approached the back closet of the store, he discovered the dead body of a woman lying in a pool of blood. As Ryan continued looking through the back of the store to see if he could find anyone else, he found another woman in the bathroom lying face-up with her arms and legs zip tied. This woman was also covered in blood, but she was still breathing, so an ambulance was called to the scene.
Rachel was able to determine that the two women found were Jayna Murray and Brittany Norwood, who were the only employees working in the store the night before. Jayna Murray was pronounced dead on the scene, while Brittany Norwood was taken to the hospital to get her injuries treated. Brittany was capable of explaining what happened to the two the women.
Brittany Norwood found at the scene
According to Brittany, she and Jayna had just finished closing up. After closing, Jayna began to head home in her car while Brittany headed to the nearby subway station. Brittany then stated that once she arrived at the station she realized she left her ticket at the store, so she began to go back and called Jayna so that she could come back and unlock the store for her. When Jayna got back and unlocked the door, they both began looking for the ticket around the store. When they were unable to find it, Jayna offered to let Brittany use her subway card, which she accepted.
When the two were about to leave the store, Brittany says that they were both attacked by two men dressed in all black. She said that the men dragged them into separate rooms and began to sexually assault and beat them. She said she wasn’t sure what the other attacker was doing to Jayna, but she could hear so much screaming and banging coming from the other room.
Brittany then said that after her attacker finished his assault, he dragged her into the room where Jayna’s body was and threw her on top of Jayna. She then said that the attackers said they only kept her alive because she was, “more fun to f*ck.” Brittany later had a rape kit done on her and the authorities began their investigation of who attacked the women.
Jayna Murray’s autopsy revealed horrific details of how she was murdered. There were multiple weapons used on Jayna, many of which were items found around the store, like a rock and tools from the store’s toolbox. She was beaten and stabbed to the point where she was unrecognizable. Pathologists concluded that her attack lasted about 17 minutes and she was possibly alive up until her very last injury. Jayna had approximately 331 injuries, over 200 of which were on her face.
Some of the bloody weapons found around the store
Most of Brittnay’s wounds were superficial and only 2 of them required stitches, which investigators found quite odd. The investigators then went over to the Apple store to see if any of the employees had seen or heard anything the night of the attack. The employees and security working at the store stated that on the night of the supposed attack, they heard a lot of yelling and commotion coming from the Lululemon store. They said that it sounded like two women arguing and a lot of banging, but nothing was reported.
After searching for the suspects with no lead, investigators began to realize that certain parts of Brittnay’s story was not adding up. After finding Jayna’s abandoned car, a hat with a blood stain was found inside of it. The investigators began to think that Brittany may have been working with the attackers as she was the only person with an injury on her head who could have had access to Jayna’s car. It was also determined that the same zip ties used to tie up Brittany were the same ones that were kept in the store. As previously stated, many of the items used in the attack were items found around the store, so did the attackers just come to the store hoping that they would have the weapons and zip ties for them already?
A bloody shoe and footprint found at the scene
Finally, one of Brittany’s 2 injuries was in the middle of her forehead. It was determined this injury came as Brittany was swinging something up and down, and she pulled it up too high, hitting herself in the face. The results for Brittany’s rape kit also came in, and it was determined that she had not been assaulted. That’s when the main detective theorized that Brittany was the one who attacked and murdered Jayna.
Brittany was later brought back for more questioning. As Brittany went on trying to come up with a new story, the investigator confronted her with the different evidence they had against her. Brittany’s only response to this was asking if she could go home. The detectives did not let her go and instead they brought her brother and sister in to talk to her alone. Finally, after her brother pleaded and asked her for the truth, Brittany stated, “I don’t want to talk about it here.” That statement led investigators to believe that Brittany was indeed the one who attacked Jayna and she was arrested on March 18, 2011.
The police then began to put the events of the incident in order. They believed that Brittany had somehow found out that Jayna caught her stealing and was going to report it to the other managers. After they closed and left the store on March 11, Brittany lured Jayna back to the store with the story that she left her subway ticket. Once there, Jayna and Brittany got into an argument and Brittany attacked Jayna. This was the yelling and commotion that the Apple store employees were hearing next door. Brittany stabbed and beat Jayna with several items around the store for nearly 20 minutes until she was finally dead. Brittany then began to cause self-inflicted wounds and tied herself up with the store’s zip ties to make it appear as if she were attacked as well. She then waited for hours for someone to come in and discover her and Jayna.
Brittany Norwood’s mugshot
After a long trial, Brittany was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole in January 2012. It was also determined that she was mentally disturbed and was a danger to society.
The murder of Jayna Murray was incredibly horrific. No one would expect that such an incident would occur between employees at a clothing store. Jayna is remembered as the kind, bright, and vibrant woman she was. The Lululemon store that Jayna was murdered in now has a stained-glass mural designed in honor of Janya.
Josh Hilberling was a 23 year old man who died after his wife Amber Hilberling pushed him out of their high-rise apartment window. The case gained a lot of media attention and controversy surrounded it as people tried to determine whether Amber killed her husband on accident or purposely.
Josh Hilberling was born on May 30, 1988 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He joined the Air Force some time after graduating high school. He was described to be very kind and funny by others. Amber Hilberling was born on October 1, 1991. She came from a very well-off family. Others described her as very smart and beautiful. The couple met in early 2010 and began dating. Josh was going to be sent off for the military, so in order to stay and live together, the couple got married a few months after meeting each other.
Josh and Amber at their wedding
Though the couple had great moments together, once they moved and began living together, tension between the two began to grow. Some time later, the couple moved back to Tulsa to live with Amber’s family after Josh was discharged from the military. It is rumored by some people, including Amber herself, that Josh’s discharge was due to possible drug involvement.
Josh and Amber Hilberling
After some time, Amber became pregnant, so her mother decided to help the couple get an apartment in a high-rise building in Tulsa. Amber and Josh had only been living in the apartment for about 2 weeks when the accident that took Josh’s life occurred.
Amber was 7 months pregnant by the time they were living in the apartment. Many neighbors have stated that they heard yelling and fighting coming from the Hilberling’s apartment often.
On June 7, 2011, a maintenance worker was called to the Hilberling’s apartment to fix a broken window. Allegedly, a few days before this, Josh became angry after an argument with Amber and threw a laundry basket at the window, causing it to crack. The maintenance man later testified that when he got to the apartment, he could tell there was some tension between the couple like they had just been arguing.
While the maintenance man was in a separate room fixing the window, he stated that he heard what sounded like running and then a loud crash. After he heard the crash, he looked out the window to see Josh falling face first. It apparently took nearly 3 seconds for him to make impact with the ground after falling from the 25th floor. 23 year old Josh Hilberling died on impact.
Josh Hilberling
Neighbors reported hearing Amber screaming, “Oh my God, no! No!” The maintenance man then went into the other room to get Amber and he brought her downstairs. Bystanders said that they saw the pregnant woman in distress run over to Josh’s body and was holding him saying, “Please come back to me.” When the paramedics arrived, Amber was pleading and begging them to save her husband, saying, “Please fix him! He can’t die!”. However, it was too late for the paramedics to do anything to save Josh.
Distressed Amber standing near Josh’s body
Amber was the main witness of the accident, so she was taken to the police station to be interrogated. Amber’s grandmother was also brought to the police station to comfort Amber. While Amber and her grandmother were sitting in the interrogation room, Amber was crying and saying, “I didn’t mean to push him,” and “Josh hates me. I’m not even gonna be able to meet him in Heaven anymore because he hates me. I killed him.” Unbeknownst to the two, their conversation was being recorded the entire time.
Amber was now the prime suspect in Josh Hilberling’s death after she had basically confessed to killing her husband. She was then arrested on 2nd degree murder charges. When the case got to the mainstream media, they began to run wild with the story. Amber’s looks became one of the main points of the case as the media pushed the idea of Amber being a “beautiful bombshell murderous wife.” Josh’s family was obviously upset by his murder. Both his family and Amber’s family testified that Josh and Amber were abusive to each other. There was even a point when Josh filed for a restraining order after Amber assaulted him, but that case was later dropped.
Amber in court
The state’s attorney offered Amber a deal of 5 years in prison if she admitted guilt to murdering her husband. However, Amber denied the deal and the case was taken to trial. She said she would never admit to killing her husband because she didn’t intentionally mean to. During the trial, Amber eventually gave birth to her and Josh’s son Levi, who her parents later took custody of.
After the trial, Amber was found guilty of 2nd degree murder and was given a 25 year prison sentence. During her time in prison, Amber was interviewed by Dr. Phil. Just 4 years into her prison sentence, Amber was found dead in her cell on October 24, 2016 after committing suicide.
According to a window expert, the windows on the high rise building were not in the right conditions. The building was built in 1966 and obviously over time, things began to wear down. The glass on the window itself was incredibly thin and was not thick enough for the type of building this was. In no way did Amber have the right to push Josh, but I highly doubt that she expected Josh to fall through the window. She was not aware of how weak the window was, but again, that doesn’t make getting physical right.
The shattered glass of the apartment window
The case of Josh and Amber Hilberling is incredibly tragic and can be a huge lesson for everyone. I do not condone people getting physical with one another unless it is to defend themselves, but I don’t think that Amber intentionally meant to push Josh out the window. This seems to be a terrible and tragic accident. I just hope that Josh and Amber’s son and families are healing from this accident that was highly preventable.
The Hart Family were an American family that consisted of 2 women named Jennifer and Sarah Hart and their 6 adoptive children, Ciera, Abigail, Jeremiah, Devonte, Hannah, and Markis. After their deaths were initially thought to be an accident, investigators found that Jennifer and Sarah Hart killed themselves and their children in a murder-suicide by driving off a California cliff in March of 2018.
Jennifer Jean Hart was born on June 4, 1979, and Sarah Margaret Hart was born on April 8, 1979. Both women were from South Dakota and began a relationship when they met at Northern State University. Their relationship was initially kept a secret, but they finally came out to their families and friends after getting married in 2009.
Sarah and Jennifer Hart
Jennifer and Sarah Hart began to take in foster children in 2004 while living in Alexandria, Minnesota. Their first child was a 15 year old girl named Lee. The girl was believed to have been abused and starved by the couple. One day, the women dropped Lee off at her therapist’s office and never returned. The girl at first assumed they would pick her up after her appointment, until her therapist informed her that they would not be coming back and she would be placed in another foster home.
On March 4, 2006, 3 siblings from Colorado County, Texas were placed in the care of Jennifer and Sarah. Those children were 7 year old Markis, 4 year old Hannah, and 2 year old Abigail. Around this time, the women were very vocal on social media about their life as a same sex couple with adopted children. Jennifer went as far as posting a humiliating status on Facebook about their first night with the children, ending the post with the quote, “If not us- WHO?” This statement displays their ridiculous savior complex.

In 2008, 3 more children were put into the care of Jennifer and Sarah. The 3 siblings from Houston were 3 year old Ciera Maija, 4 year old Jeremiah, and 6 year old Devonte Jordan, after their biological mother lost custody of them and they could no longer stay with relatives. In 2014, a photograph of Devonte, who was 12 at the time, hugging a police officer during a protest in Portland, Oregon went viral. This further made Jennifer and Sarah play up their social media image as a “big happy family”.
The viral photo of Devonte and a police officer embracing during a protest in Oregon
For years, the Harts faced several allegations of abuse. There were several clear signs that the Hart children were being terribly abused, but no one seemed to do anything about it. While living in Minnesota in 2008, a teacher saw a bruise on Hannah’s arm, to which Hannah informed her that Jennifer had beat her with a belt.
In 2010, Abigail, who was 6, complained to her teachers that she had “owies” on her back and stomach. Upon inspection, her teachers found the she had been beaten and Abigail further told them that Jennifer held her head underneath cold water. When asked why her mother would do that, Abigail said that they accused her of stealing a penny that she found, and punished her. All of the children had also complained to school officials that they were hungry and not getting enough food at home; it was found that some of their friends even brought food to school for them.
After being questioned by authorities, Sarah took responsibility for the abuse and was sentenced to 1 year of community service. Schools officials later claimed that they stopped reporting the abuse to authorities because they feared that the children would be punished even more for speaking up. Just a few months after this information came out, all 6 children were taken out of public school to be homeschooled.
When the Hart family moved to Oregon in 2013, authorities were notified about their previous abuse allegations. They investigated this by interviewing close friends of the family. These friends talked about how strict the women were on the children, including making them walk in a straight line, forcing them to raise their hands before speaking, and not allowing them to laugh. They further stated that the children were especially afraid of Jennifer and Sarah was just cold and closed off. After interviewing the women and children, they shared no further details of abuse, so there wasn’t much that the investigators could go after.
In 2017, the Hart family moved to their final home in Woodland, Washington. The house was a bit isolated from the neighbors, and it did not appear that children even lived there. One night in August at about 1:30 A.M., Hannah, who was now 14, jumped out a 2 story window and ran to her next door neighbor’s home. She begged the couple living there not tell her mothers she was there and that her adoptive mothers were racist and abusive. After the neighbors did not want to get involved, Jennifer and Sarah came to get Hannah and brought her back home. They told the neighbors that she was lying and that she and the other children had behavioral issues because they were “drug babies”.
After this incident, the woman living in the neighbor’s home told her father about the ordeal, who then called 911 to report it to authorities, fearing that the children were being severely abused. Devonte also began going to the neighbor’s house and asking for food. He would tell neighbors that their adoptive mothers would withhold food from them as a punishment. He then asked the neighbors to drop the food off at a back fence so that Jennifer and Sarah would not catch him. After these reports, the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) went to the family home twice to speak with Jennifer and Sarah. The first visit was on March 23, 2018, to which they did not reach the family, and on March 26, 2018, the day of the murders.
On March, 26, 2018 Jennifer and Sarah took their 6 kids on a road trip through Oregon and down to California. Jennifer, who was driving, took the family in their SUV near a cliff on California State Route 1 in Mendocino, California. Their car was seen parked near the cliff for several hours before Jennifer pushed on the accelerator and drove the car off the cliff. The accident resulted in the deaths of both Jennifer and Sarah, both 39 at the time, and all 6 of their children: 12 year old Ciera, 14 year old Abigail, 14 year old Jeremiah, 15 year old Devonte, 16 year old Hannah, and 19 year old Markis.
A few hours after the accident, a German tourist taking photographs looked over the edge of the cliff and saw the SUV flipped upside-down. The tourist called authorities and they came to investigate the crime scene. Jennifer and Sarah’s bodies were found inside the car, while the bodies of Markis, Jeremiah, and Abigail were found a short distance away. Ciera’s body was found washed up on a shore 2 weeks later. A few days after this, a human foot inside a shoe was found and DNA tests determined the foot to be Hannah’s. Devonte’s body has never been found and he was declared dead on April 3, 2019.
The Hart family’s SUV at the scene of the accident
At first, the family’s deaths were believed to be a tragic accident, but investigators found several horrific pieces of evidence leading up to the deaths. After doing a search of Sarah’s phone history, investigators found that just moments before the accident, she googled: “Can 500 mgs of Benadryl kill a 120-pound woman?” “Is death by drowning relatively painless?” “How long does it take to die from hypothermia while drowning in a car?” and “No-kill shelters for dogs?”. Autopsies also determined that Jennifer’s blood alcohol level was above the legal limit at the time of her death, and Sarah and 2 of the children had a drug often found in Benadryl in their systems. An investigation of the scene found that there were no tire marks nearby, indicating that there was no effort to try and stop the car. The deaths of the Hart children were determined to be a murder-suicide, or a familicide, at the hands of their adoptive mothers Jennifer and Sarah.
The scene of the Hart family’s accident
The abuse that these children had to endure through their lives because of these evil human beings are horrifying. There’s no reason why these women adopted these children other than to play some savior role and make themselves look good to others. The system failed these children as well after doing nothing when the children and others came forward with abuse claims so many times. Do not believe how everything is portrayed on social media because you never know what horrors are going on behind closed doors. If you are adopting a child to make your image look good, then you need to reevaluate your thinking because you do not care about the child’s well-being whatsoever. Markis, Abigail, Hannah, Jeremiah, Devonte, and Ciera deserved a better life than what they were given and I hope they now have that in the afterlife.

Maya Millete was a wife and mother of 3 who went missing in January 2021. After months of suspicion and interrogations, Maya’s husband Larry was arrested for her murder in October 2021.
Maya Tabalanza-Millete, who also went by May, was born on May 1, 1981 in the Philippines. She and her family moved to Hawaii and she grew up in Honolulu. Maya later graduated from Arthur W. Radford High School as well as the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and became a civilian employee for the U.S. Navy.

In 1997, Maya met Larry Millete after he and his family moved to Honolulu from San Diego, California. The couple got married and Larry enlisted in the U.S. Navy for 5 years. They eventually moved back to San Diego together and started their family.

After 3 children and some years married, Maya began the process of divorcing Larry. One of Maya’s friends stated that Maya was a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her husband Larry.
On January 7, 2021, Maya called a divorce attorney, and that was the last time she contacted anyone. She was last seen this same day at about 5 P.M. at her home in Chula Vista, California.
2 days after Maya was last seen, her sister Maricris Drouaillet reported her missing to the Chula Vista Police Department. Searches for Maya began on January 13 near Mount San Miguel Park.
A neighbor of the Millete family gave law enforcement an audio recording from surveillance footage from the night Maya disappeared. In the recording, 9 loud bangs were heard coming from the Millete residence at about 8:30 P.M. The FBI could not determine if these were gunshots because of the audio’s quality, but the public strongly believes so. The surveillance footage showed the Millete’s children playing outside, which was noted to be unusual because of the time. The footage also showed that the next day, Larry moved his car into a spot on their driveway that was out of view from the camera. He then left and was gone for more than 11 hours.
On January 23, investigators obtained a search warrant to search the Millete’s home for evidence regarding Maya’s whereabouts. In February, skeletal remains were found and they were thought to be Maya, but DNA tests determined that the remains were that of an animal. Maya’s attorney and several family members appeared on an episode of Dr.Phil on April 12, 2021 regarding Maya’s disappearance.
Suspicion started to fall on Maya’s husband Larry after he was interrogated, as well as the circumstances of the couple’s relationship. When being questioned about the day Maya disappeared, Larry never had a consistent story. In messages between Larry and his boss, Larry says, “I think she wants me to snap and I am shaking inside ready to snap.” There were also messages between Larry and a “spell caster”, in which Larry was hoping to cast a spell on Maya to convince her not to divorce him. The messages later began to discuss physical harm toward Maya. It is believed that after finding out that Maya contacted a divorce attorney, Larry snapped and killed her.
On February 3, 2021, Larry hired an attorney and stopped cooperating with law enforcement. By July 2021, Larry was named a person of interest in Maya’s disappearance. Finally, on October 19, 2021, Larry Millete was arrested and charged with Maya’s death. Although Maya’s body has not yet been found, investigators have found enough evidence to show that Larry Millete murdered his wife.
Larry and Maya Millete
It is hard to imagine what could have happened to Maya that day she disappeared. Maya did not deserve this, and her children did not deserve to lose both parents in such a tragic way because of their father’s actions. I truly hope that Maya will be found soon and she will be given justice for what was done to her.
Lloyd Avery II was an up and coming actor who was murdered in 2005 by his prison cellmate for a Satanic ritual. He was known for acting in several well known films, including Boyz n The Hood (1991) and Poetic Justice (1993).
Lloyd Fernandez Avery Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California on June 21, 1969 and attended Beverly Hills High School. At 22, he had his debut in the film Boyz n The Hood, acting as a rival gang member who kills one of the movie’s main characters and is later killed in retaliation. After starring in his first film, Lloyd went on to star in several more films in the 90s and early 2000s before his life took a turn towards crime.
Lloyd Avery II in Boyz N The Hood (1991)
Lloyd started to become more involved in Los Angeles’s gang life in the early 2000s. Soon after he finished filming for the movie Shot (2001), Lloyd was arrested for the murders of 2 rival gang members. He was charged with a double homicide and was sentenced to life in prison.
While in prison, Lloyd chose to turn his life over to Christ and became very involved with the prison’s church. Lloyd was later sent over to Pelican Bay State Prison to continue serving his sentence, where his cellmate was Kevin Roby. Kevin Roby was a Satan worshipper and had paranoid Schizophrenia. He was sentenced to life in prison for the sexual assault and murder of his sister, which he stated was an “attempt to appease Satan.”
As he continued his religious studies, Lloyd would often try to spread the word of God. He was warned not to do this, as it could anger some of the other prisoners, but Lloyd continued. Some believe that this is what triggered Kevin to attack Lloyd.
Lloyd Avery II in Poetic Justice (1993)
On September 4, 2005, Kevin Roby attacked Lloyd Avery II. He hit Lloyd over the head with an object and strangled him to death. Kevin then used Lloyd’s body in a human sacrifice. 2 days after the murder, guards found Lloyd’s mutilated body in the cell laying over a pentagram drawn in his own blood. Kevin Roby then got another life sentence added to his time.
Kevin Roby
Lloyd Avery’s family blamed the prison for negligence in Lloyd’s murder because they felt that he and Kevin should have never been placed in the same cell to begin with. They had incredibly conflicting beliefs, so it should have been known that putting them in the same cell together would cause conflict. Kevin himself even told guards repeatedly that he didn’t like having Christian cellmates. He went on to sue Pelican Bay Prison for putting Lloyd in the same cell as him after he told them not to. It was also noted that Lloyd’s body shouldn’t have taken as long as it did to be found because each prisoner is supposed to be counted for every day.
Though many people recognize Lloyd Avery II for the well known films he starred in, not many people know about his death. Or they at least don’t know the details or brutality of his murder.
Gerald and Charlene Gallego, also known as the Love Slave Killers, were a couple who kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and tortured several young teens and adults in California, Oregon, and Nevada between 1978 and 1980. Their crimes were put to an end when the couple was finally arrested in November 1980.
Charlene and Gerald Gallego
Gerald Armond Gallego was born on July 17, 1946 in Sacramento, California. From a young age, Gerald had a criminal record , which included sexual assault, armed robbery, and domestic violence. To avoid prosecution for his crimes, Gerald used other names, including Stephen Feil or Stephen Styles. Before Gerald and Charlene got together, Gerald had been married 5 times, with most of those marriages only lasting about a month because Gerald was horribly abusive.
Charlene Adell Williams was born on October 10, 1956 in Stockton, California. She had a different upbringing from Gerald and was said to be a very bright and intelligent young woman. However, she began to go down the wrong path when she started using drugs and drinking in high school. Gerald and Charlene met in September of 1977 at a poker club in Sacramento, California. By the time Charlene met Gerald, she had been married and divorced twice.
By December 1977, the couple was engaged. As their relationship grew, Gerald shared with Charlene his fantasy of wanting to kidnap and have sex slaves, specifying that they had to be young girls. At first, Charlene thought this was just a dark fantasy, but it soon came to a reality. On September 11, 1978, the couple committed their first kidnapping.
The couple stopped at a mall in Sacramento and Charlene went to go look for potential victims while Gerald waited in their van. Charlene came across 17 year old Rhonda Scheffler and 16 year old Kippi Vaught and convinced them to come with her to smoke some weed. She then led the 2 girls to their van, where Gerald was waiting in the back aiming a gun at them. He then forced them to get in the van and tied them up with duct tape. Gerald and Charlene then drove the girls to Baxter, California. Once there, Gerald raped and then beat and killed both the girls with a tire iron and gunshot wounds to the back of their heads. Charlene, who was a few months pregnant at the time of these murders, was later forced to have an abortion by Gerald who didn’t want to have another kid.
About 2 weeks after this murder, Gerald learned that there was a warrant for his arrest after his 14 year old daughter from his first marriage reported that he had been sexually abusing her since she was 6. The couple then fled to Reno, Nevada and got married, with Gerald using the fake name “Stephen Feil”.
The couple during their wedding
On June 24, 1979, the couple committed their second kidnapping. While at the Washoe County Fair in Reno, Nevada, the couple spotted 14 year old Brenda Judd and 13 year old Sandra Colley. Charlene then offered the girls some money if they would help her put flyers on cars in the parking lot, to which the girls agreed. They then followed Charlene to the van where Gerald was once again waiting in the back with a gun. Similar to the last time, Gerald made the girls get into the van and tied them up. He then drove to a hardware store and purchased a shovel and hammer. Gerald later made Charlene drive the car out to some isolated area while he got into the back and sexually assaulted the 2 girls.
After arriving in the deserted area, Gerald took Brenda and Sandra from the van one at a time and beat them both to death with the hammer and then buried their bodies. Brenda and Sandra’s bodies weren’t found until about 20 years later in 2000.
By September 1979, Gerald and Charlene moved backed to Sacramento, California. About 10 months after the last murders, Gerald told Charlene that he wanted another victim. On April 24, 1980, Gerald and Charlene went to a mall in Sacramento where they found Stacey Ann Redican and Karen Chipman-Twiggs who were both 17. Like the first time, Charlene asked the girls if they wanted to smoke weed, and they agreed. When Charlene brought the girls to the van, they were then forced inside and sexually assaulted by Gerald. Charlene drove the van near Lovelock, Nevada while this happened. Once they arrived, Gerald beat Stacey and Karen to death with a hammer and shovel. Their bodies were later found in July this year.

Shortly after this murder, Charlene found out she was pregnant again. In June of 1980, the couple took a trip to Gold Beach, Oregon. While driving around Gold Beach on June 6, 1980, the couple spotted 21 year old Linda Teresa Aguilar, who was visibly pregnant, hitchhiking. They offered her a ride, and she got in their van. Linda was then sexually assaulted by Gerald while Charlene drove to an isolated area. After the assault, Gerald beat her with a rock and strangled her. However, Linda’s autopsy showed that there was dirt in her mouth and lungs, meaning that Linda was most likely still alive when she was buried.

On July 17, 1980, while out at a bar called West Sacramento tavern celebrating Gerald’s birthday, the couple set their sights on the bartender 34 year old Virginia Mochel. Instead of going home after leaving the bar, the couple actually sat in their van and waited in the parking lot for Virginia to finish her shift. After Virginia locked up the bar, Gerald approached her with a gun and forced her into their van. Gerald then drove to the couple’s apartment building and he ordered Charlene to go inside while he sexually assaulted Virginia in the van. After the assault, Gerald made Charlene come back and drive the van to an isolated area. Unlike the other victims, Gerald strangled Virginia to death with a cord that was later found with Virginia’s remains.

The couple committed their last kidnapping in November 1980. In the early morning hours of November 2, 1980, after drinking, the couple went out to find new victims. Around 1 AM, they spotted 22 year old Craig Miller and his fiancé 21 year old Mary Elizabeth Sowers who were leaving a fraternity party. Gerald got out of his car and forced the couple to get into the back seat of their car while pointing a gun at then. Friends of Craig and Mary approached the car, but then it sped off with Charlene behind the wheel. The friends thought it was just a strange prank at first, but after not hearing from the couple, the friends reported this to the police and also provided the license plate number of the car.
Mary Sowers and Craig Miller
After kidnapping the young couple, Charlene and Gerald first stopped near Bass Lake, California, where Gerald ordered Craig out of the car and shot him to death. They then drove back to their apartment, where Gerald sexually assaulted Mary before taking her to an empty field in Placer County, California, where he shot her to death as well. Both of their bodies were later found weeks later.
After the friends of Craig and Mary reported the kidnapping, the police tracked the couple down to Charlene’s parents home. Gerald tried to make an escape, but both Charlene and Gerald were arrested on November 17, 1980. Both Charlene and Gerald pled not guilty to the charges they were facing, but Charlene offered to testify against Gerald for a plea deal to reduce her sentence. Charlene’s main defense was that she never physically killed anyone and that she was a victim as well, but she was still just as guilty as Gerald regardless because she’s the one who scouted out and lured victims to Gerald.
In June 1983, Gerald was sentenced to death for the murders of Craig Miller and Mary Sowers, and in June 1984, Gerald was convicted for the murders of Karen Twiggs and Stacey Redican, but this sentenced was later overturned. By July 1997, Charlene completed her 16 year sentence and was released. Gerald later died of cancer while awaiting execution on July 18, 2002.

The crimes that this couple committed are horrifying. It’s insane that someone’s mind can be so sick and twisted to carry out such acts. Gerald and Charlene were absolute monsters. In my eyes, despite her claims Charlene was just as evil as Gerald, even if she didn’t physically harm anyone. The fact that she tried to portray herself as a victim is despicable. It’s really scary and sickening to think that there are many people out there who are capable of doing these things.
Ronald Clark O’Bryan was a man who was given the nickname “The Candy Man“ after he killed his own son and attempted to kill other children after poisoning their Halloween candy in 1974.
Ronald Clark O’Bryan was a 39 year old optician living in Deer Park, Texas. He had a wife named Daynene and they had two children: a son named Timothy and a daughter named Elizabeth. Along with being an optician, Ronald was also a deacon at the Second Baptist Church and was in charge of the bus program.
On Halloween of 1974, Ronald took 8 year old Timothy and 5 year old Elizabeth trick-or-treating. The children began to run ahead of their father after already going to a few houses with no answer. When Ronald finally caught up with the children, he took out 5 Pixy Stix candies from his pockets. He claimed that one of the people from the previous houses gave them to him.
Timothy O’Bryan
After giving his 2 children 1 Pixy Stix each, Ronald handed 1 to each of his neighbors’ kids as well, leaving him with 1 more. He later gave the last one to a 10 year old boy he recognized from church.
Before heading to bed, Timothy asked to have a candy, as he and Elizabeth had not had any of their candy yet. When his parents allowed him to take a candy, Timothy chose the Pixy Stix. Upon opening it, he had trouble getting the powdery candy out, so Ronald helped him. Timothy then complained that the candy tasted bitter, so his father gave him some Kool Aid to wash it down.
Soon after, Timothy began to complain that his stomach hurt. He then went to the bathroom and began throwing up and convulsing. The ambulance quickly arrived at the house, but Timothy unfortunately died on the way to the hospital, just less than an hour after he ate the candy.
Pixy Stix candy
After Timothy’s autopsy was done, it was found that the child had been poisoned with a fatal dose of potassium cyanide after eating the Pixy Stix. The other Pixy Stix that Ronald had given out were recovered from the other children. The parents of the 5th child began to panic when they couldn’t find the candy their son had, fearing he ate the poisoned candy. But it was later found in the child’s hand as he was sleeping, still unopened.
It was discovered that each of the Pixy Stix had been ripped open and partially dumped out. The candy that was dumped out was then replaced with the cyanide and then the wrapper was stapled shut. The Pixy Stix that Timothy had consumed had enough cyanide to kill 2 adults, and the rest of the candies had enough to kill 3 to 4 adults.
Ronald was questioned about which house he got the candy from, but he claimed that he couldn’t remember. The police later found that the children had only gone trick-or-treating on about 2 blocks before returning home because it started raining. They then discovered that none of the houses that the children went to had given out Pixy Stix.

After investigating Ronald’s background further, it was found that he had taken out a life insurance policy on both his children months before Timothy’s death. Days before Halloween, Ronald had visited a chemical supply store and purchased cyanide.
After putting the pieces together, investigators determined that Ronald had poisoned his son and attempted to poison his daughter to collect life insurance money. He gave the poisoned candy to the other kids as well to cover his tracks. Ronald was arrested for the murder of Timothy on November 5, 1974.
Despite the evidence against him, Ronald maintained his claim of innocence. Ronald’s trial for his son’s murder began on May 5, 1975. A chemist that Ronald was acquainted with testified claiming that in 1973, Ronald asked him about how much cyanide could be fatal. Other acquaintances of Ronald further claimed that Ronald had become more interested in cyanide. Ronald’s in-laws also claimed that at Timothy’s funeral, Ronald talked about plans to use the insurance money to go on vacation and other purchases.
News article about the murder
On June 3, 1975, Ronald was found guilty of capital murder and 4 counts of attempted murder. Shortly after his conviction, Ronald’s wife Daynene divorced him and began living a new life with their daughter Elizabeth and her new husband. Ryan was executed by lethal injection on March 31, 1984.
It’s so horrifying that a person could commit such a sick crime against their own child. It is fortunate that Ronald didn’t get away with this crime and that no other children suffered like poor Timothy did. This murder changed Halloween forever; now parents constantly double check their kid’s candy to prevent such incidents from happening.
